Selangor, El Sky News – A police officer sustained minor injuries after being struck by a car while attempting to apprehend a robbery suspect at a petrol station along Persiaran Raja Muda Musa in Klang.
According to South Klang OCPD, Assistant Commissioner Ramli Kasa, the incident occurred around 2:30 pm when the patrol team identified a vehicle believed to be involved in a robbery in Subang Jaya. As officers attempted the arrest, the suspect pushed one of the officers and tried to flee in the car. The vehicle struck the policeman, narrowly missing his leg, before colliding with a police car.
The suspect drove against traffic toward Shah Alam, later abandoning the car along Persiaran Sultan Ibrahim and fleeing on foot. The injured officer received immediate medical attention at the scene.
Police subsequently arrested a 33-year-old local man around 12:45 am the next day in Bandar Bukit Tinggi. Authorities reported that the suspect has prior criminal and drug-related offenses. He is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant in the discharge of duties and Section 307 for attempted murder. Investigations are ongoing to determine his involvement in other criminal activities.
The dramatic incident was captured on a one-minute and 17-second video clip recorded by a bystander, showing the white car speeding off as the officer lay on the ground. The video has since gone viral on social media.
