Indonesia, El Sky News – Indonesia has once again been stirred by the viral story of a lost tumbler belonging to a woman named Anita, an employee at a brokerage office. The incident began when Anita shared her complaint on social media about her blue Tuku tumbler, which she said was left inside a cooler bag on a KRL (Commuter Line) train.
In her post, Anita also shared screenshots of her conversation with a KRL officer named Argi, who was described as cooperative and even offered to replace the missing item. The post quickly went viral, generating widespread public reactions. Interestingly, public sympathy largely favored the officer, who was seen as responsible and professional in handling the situation.
Chronology of the Lost Tumbler
Anita’s post sparked attention after she claimed her tumbler went missing due to negligence by KAI Commuter staff. On her account @anitadewi, she explained that she had accidentally left her cooler bag in the train’s luggage compartment.
“My TUKU TUMBLER is GONE due to the IRRESPONSIBILITY of PT KAI staff @commuterline. Here’s the story: disclaimer, I also apologize beforehand because I forgot and left my cooler bag in the train luggage compartment,” she wrote.
The incident occurred as Anita was returning home from work on the KRL from Tanah Abang Station to Rangkasbitung around 7:00 PM. She realized the cooler bag had been left behind when she got off at Rawa Buntu Station at approximately 7:40 PM.
She immediately reported the incident to a security officer and explained that the bag was in the women-only carriage. The KRL staff promptly followed up and asked for her contact number. Shortly after, they sent her a photo as proof that the cooler bag had been found intact, along with its contents.
The next day, Anita picked up the bag at Rangkasbitung Station. However, upon inspection, the tumbler was missing.
“Long story short, I got my cooler bag back. And… shock! When I opened it, something was gone! My Tuku tumbler was missing,” she said.

To find out where the tumbler had gone missing, Anita requested an explanation and CCTV footage. However, KAI explained that access to CCTV requires an official police request and central authorization. Frustrated by the lack of answers, Anita blamed KAI for inadequate service, claiming it caused her to lose her item.
Statement from the Officer

As the post went viral, rumors circulated that Argi Budiansyah, the KAI Commuter Passenger Service officer who handled Anita’s report, was at risk of being dismissed. Argi later clarified via his social media account, sharing screenshots of his WhatsApp conversation with Anita’s husband.
In his statement, Argi explained that the bag had been handed over by another officer during a busy period at the station, leaving him no time to check its contents in detail before placing it in the lost-and-found locker.
After learning that an item was missing, Argi said he offered to replace the tumbler as a form of responsibility. However, Anita and her husband did not accept the offer.
He also shared his last unanswered message, in which he expressed the pressure he felt due to the viral post.
“Assalamu’alaikum sir. My job is now on the line (I am being dismissed) because your wife posted this on social media,” Argi wrote.
“I swear, sir, I did not take the tumbler… The impact is huge. I am only a service officer at KAI. You have taken away my only source of income. Was my decision to offer a replacement for the lost tumbler not enough?” he added.
In his final statement, Argi claimed that he was officially dismissed from his position on November 25 due to alleged negligence in handling the case.
