Rembau Body-in-Bag Mystery: Police Detain Man with Six Criminal Records

REMBAU, El Sky News – The investigation into the grisly discovery of a woman’s body, found stuffed inside a bag and buried behind an abandoned house in Kampung Batu 4, Pedas, has seen a major breakthrough with the arrest of a 41-year-old suspect.

The Negeri Sembilan police force confirmed that the individual was apprehended in Melaka yesterday. Preliminary background checks revealed that the suspect is a seasoned offender with six prior criminal records, raising further questions about the motive behind the heinous act.

Potential Link to Ampang Disappearance

The case has drawn significant public attention due to its suspected link to a missing person report from Ampang, Selangor. The disappearance of the woman gained traction on social media earlier this month after a heartfelt plea for help was issued by local singer Mac Ruhayu, who is believed to be a close relative or acquaintance of the victim.

While forensic results are still pending to officially confirm the victim’s identity, the timeline and physical descriptions from the Ampang missing person case appear to align with the remains found in the shallow grave at the Pedas property.

The Discovery at Kampung Batu 4

The mystery began when residents near the abandoned house reported a foul stench, leading authorities to the discovery of the body. The victim was found concealed within a large bag and buried in the backyard of the vacant premises.

Local police have cordoned off the area as forensic teams continue to comb the site for additional evidence. The suspect is currently under a remand order to assist with investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which carries the death penalty or a lengthy prison sentence upon conviction in Malaysia.

Awaiting Forensic Confirmation

District police officials have urged the public to refrain from speculating on the victim’s identity until the DNA and post-mortem results are finalized. “We are looking into all angles, including the suspect’s relationship with the missing person from Ampang. Our priority is to ensure a watertight case for the prosecution,” a spokesperson stated.

The arrest marks a crucial step in providing closure to a case that has gripped the local community and sparked conversations regarding public safety and the plight of missing persons.
