KUALA LUMPUR – Volvo has officially premiered its latest electric SUV, the Volvo EX60, marking a significant milestone as the first production vehicle to feature native integration of Google Gemini AI. This partnership allows drivers to utilize advanced artificial intelligence for a wide range of in-car tasks, voice assistance, and highly personalized digital experiences.
Built on Volvo’s next-generation SPA3 architecture, the EX60 boasts a remarkable driving range of up to 810 km on a single charge. The vehicle utilizes “cell-to-body” technology, where the battery is integrated directly into the chassis to optimize structural integrity and energy efficiency.
In terms of performance, the EX60 supports 400 kW DC fast charging. This allows the SUV to gain approximately 340 km of range in just 10 minutes of charging. The interior is designed as a luxury sanctuary, featuring a premium 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system with Dolby Atmos support and a panoramic glass roof.
For those seeking more adventure, Volvo also introduced the EX60 Cross Country. This rugged variant comes equipped with an adaptive air suspension system that can increase ground clearance by up to 20 cm for off-road handling, while also lowering the vehicle at higher speeds to improve aerodynamics.
The EX60 still retains Volvo’s signature “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlight design, while introducing modern touches such as sleek, high-positioned door handles.
Production of the Volvo EX60 is scheduled to begin in April this year, with a global market release expected in the third quarter of 2026. Volvo is backing the new model with a 10-year battery warranty, emphasizing its confidence in its latest electric powertrain technology. (Kayla Shabirah)
