Raja Muda of Perlis Urges Comprehensive Human Capital Development for Asnaf Group

KUALA LUMPUR – The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, has called on the MAIPs Asnaf Transformation Academy (ATAM) to prioritize comprehensive human capital development in its strategic planning for the next five years.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also the President of the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs), emphasized that future programs must remain relevant to current global demands. He highlighted the importance of focusing on practical skills, entrepreneurship, job marketability, and both financial and digital literacy.

“This integrated approach is vital to ensuring that the asnaf community in Perlis is not only skilled but also competitive and confident enough to live independently in the future,” His Royal Highness stated during a special board meeting regarding ATAM’s 2026-2030 direction.

Focus on Impact and Governance

The meeting was held in conjunction with the MAIPs “Ziarah Mahabbah” program to the Andaman Region, which includes areas such as Krabi, Phuket, and Satun in Southern Thailand.

The Raja Muda stressed that the effectiveness of ATAM’s initiatives should be measured by real-world outcomes and long-term impact rather than just participation numbers or expenditure. He urged for the empowerment of governance, monitoring, and evaluation through the use of data analysis and feedback to ensure that funds are managed with transparency and integrity.

From Dependency to Self-Sufficiency

The primary goal of ATAM, according to the Raja Muda, is to serve as a strategic institution that transforms individuals from a state of “dependency” to “capability.”

“The goal is to transition them from being ‘receivers’ to becoming ‘contributors’ to society. Therefore, the outlined direction must be clear, focused, and centered on making a genuine difference in the lives of the asnaf,” he added.

During the visit, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin and the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr. Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, also attended a dinner with Krabi provincial leaders, where they promoted Perlis’ local cuisine and the “Visit Perlis Year 2024-2026” campaign.
