Tesla to Discontinue Model S and Model X Production, Shifts Focus to Humanoid Robots and AI Technology

KUALA LUMPUR – In a surprising strategic pivot, Tesla has announced that it will cease the production of its flagship luxury vehicles, the Model S and Model X. The electric vehicle (EV) pioneer plans to redirect its massive research and manufacturing resources toward the development of humanoid robots and advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, indicated that the decision reflects the company’s evolution from a traditional car manufacturer into a leading AI and robotics firm. While the Model S and Model X were instrumental in establishing Tesla’s brand, the company now views the “Optimus” humanoid robot and Full Self-Driving (FSD) software as its primary long-term value drivers.

“The future of Tesla lies in autonomy and robotics. By shifting our focus, we can accelerate the deployment of AI that will transform labor and transportation globally,” a company spokesperson stated.

The production lines for the Model S and Model X are expected to be phased out by the end of the year. Tesla assured current owners that service, software updates, and parts availability will continue for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, the high-volume Model 3 and Model Y, along with the Cybertruck, will remain the core of Tesla’s automotive business.

Industry analysts suggest that this move aims to secure Tesla’s dominance in the robotics market, which is projected to grow exponentially over the next decade. The company is now prioritizing the integration of its proprietary AI chips and neural networks into physical robot forms designed for both industrial and domestic use.
