Kuala Lumpur,El Sky News — Malaysian police have arrested two men in connection with the killing of a 41-year-old single mother at a residential flat in Sungai Dua, Penang.
The victim was found dead inside her first-floor apartment at Flat Sri Murni, with injuries to her neck. Authorities said the discovery was made after a neighbour noticed the front door was open while the metal grille remained locked and alerted the police.
Penang Police confirmed that the suspects were detained within hours of the incident. Both individuals are currently being held to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
Initial findings indicate the victim lived with her teenage son and was known in the neighbourhood for transporting schoolchildren. A post-mortem examination is being conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Police said investigations are ongoing and urged the public to avoid speculation while authorities work to establish the motive behind the killing.
