Woman Found with 61 Stab Wounds in Kelantan Paddy Field, Police Launch Murder Probe

KUALA LUMPUR,May, 2026 — A shocking murder case has emerged in Kelantan after a woman was found dead with 61 stab wounds in a paddy field in Kampung Simah, Ketereh, early Friday morning.

According to police, the body was discovered at approximately 12:30am following a tip-off from members of the public. Ketereh authorities quickly responded and secured the area as a crime scene.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat confirmed that the case has been classified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, with investigations now underway.

  • A search radius of approximately 30 metres was established

Several items were recovered near the body, including:

  • A pair of glasses
  • A light purple shawl
  • Personal accessories such as a necklace, bracelet, and ring

These items are expected to play a crucial role in reconstructing the sequence of events.

Victim Identification and Condition

Initially, the victim had no identification documents on her, complicating early identification efforts. However, authorities later confirmed her identity through fingerprint verification conducted by the National Registration Department.

Police also revealed that the victim was dressed in:

  • A black long-sleeved top
  • Black trousers

The presence of personal jewelry, including a necklace bearing the inscription “SYAA,” may provide further investigative leads.
