Three Malaysian Players Advance to Second Round of China Open Squash Tournament

KUALA LUMPUR, El Sky News — Three Malaysian squash players — Rachel Arnold, Aifa Azman, and Aira Azman — successfully advanced to the second round of the 2025 China Open after impressive first-round victories.

Rachel Arnold secured her spot by defeating Hong Kong’s Tong Tsz Wing with scores of 7-11, 11-7, 11-6, 12-10. Meanwhile, Aifa Azman displayed strong form by beating Ireland’s Hannah Craig 11-9, 11-2, 11-7.

In another all-Malaysian clash, Aira Azman triumphed over Ainaa Amani Ampandi with a straight-game victory of 11-6, 13-11, 11-7.

For the upcoming round, Aifa will face Egypt’s seventh seed Salma Hany, while Aira is set to meet Amina Orfi, also from Egypt.

All three Malaysian representatives now aim to continue their momentum and advance further in the tournament.
