KLANG, El Sky News – The domestic crisis of national football star Muhammad Faisal Abdul Halim, 27, better known as “Mickey,” and his wife, Nur Syazwani Mizuana Shahril, 27, has reached a conclusion after the couple was confirmed to have divorced by talak dua (two divorces) yesterday.
The divorce confirmation was made before Syarie Judge Mohd Hairuddin Ab Rahim at the Klang Syariah Subordinate Court in Selangor, after the court affirmed the pronouncement of two divorce vows (lafaz talak) made by the Selangor FC winger.
According to the Syarie lawyer representing Faisal, Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader, the court confirmed that the first talak occurred on June 11, 2025. However, the couple was reported to have reconciled on the same date.
Nevertheless, the second talak pronounced on November 10, 2025, was confirmed by the court, officially pronouncing a talak dua on the couple who had been married since March 9, 2019.
“The court has confirmed the talak and the reconciliation occurred, with the first talak falling on June 11, 2025, and the reconciliation also taking place on the same date. The second talak on November 10, 2025, has also been affirmed by the court. Thus, they are now divorced for the second time, and Nur Syazwani is currently undergoing the iddah process,” explained Akberdin.
A Prolonged Domestic Crisis
The issue of the couple’s household started to become public knowledge when Nur Syazwani reportedly filed for divorce against Faisal in early September. Although the couple chose to save their marriage, which has been blessed with one son, Khalish Aryan, the effort appears not to have lasted long.
Nur Syazwani is now ordered to undergo the period of iddah (a waiting period for a woman after divorce). Meanwhile, lawyers for both parties are reported to be continuing discussions at the Syariah High Court to resolve other related matters, including the issue of child custody (hadanah).
This separation is certainly a surprise to local sports fans, especially after Faisal previously garnered national attention for his recovery from an acid attack incident in May 2024. Despite his brilliance on the football pitch, his personal life is now going through a new and challenging phase.
