TNB Secures Coveted ‘Best Brand Award’ for Fifth Time at World Branding Awards

Osaka, El Sky News – Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), Malaysia’s national electricity utility provider, has achieved top global recognition by being named a recipient of the Best Brand Award 2025-2026 at the recent World Branding Awards ceremony held in Osaka, Japan. This prestigious accolade marks the fifth time TNB has secured this title, following previous wins in 2014, 2018, 2019, and 2021. This consistent success underscores the company’s continuous commitment to strengthening its brand presence within the rapidly evolving energy sector.

TNB distinguished itself by being the sole Malaysian brand to receive recognition within the energy award category this year. The World Branding Awards, organized by the London-based, non-profit World Branding Forum (WBF), is dedicated to honoring outstanding efforts and achievements by the finest global, regional, and national brands. The selection process for the winners was rigorous, involving three key components: brand valuation, consumer market research, and a public vote, with a significant 70 percent of the final assessment weighted on consumer input.

Out of 1,092 brands nominated globally this year, fewer than 100 were ultimately celebrated as Best Brands. With over 91,000 consumers across 66 countries participating in the public ballot, WBF Global Chairman Richard Rowles noted that such consumer votes represent the ultimate form of brand endorsement. This recent honor reflects the high level of dedication demonstrated by TNB and its 35,000-strong workforce nationwide in delivering exceptional service and energy solutions to over 11 million customers across Malaysia, ultimately building trust and setting industry benchmarks.
