Kuala Lumpur, El Sky News – The Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM) has extended its congratulations to Koperasi Serbaguna Anak-Anak Selangor Berhad (KOSAS) on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee, marking five decades of establishment and significant contribution to the cooperative movement’s development in Selangor and Malaysia.

Lieutenant General Datuk Ahmad Norihan Jalal, Chairman of SKM, highlighted that KOSAS’s 50-year success was not achieved easily, but rather through the dedication, commitment, and strong leadership of those who guided and supported the cooperative since its inception.

He affirmed that KOSAS has demonstrated enduring relevance and the ability to adapt to changing times over the long period. Given its identity rooted in integrity, discipline, trustworthiness, and a high-performance work culture, Ahmad Norihan expressed confidence in KOSAS’s immense potential to remain a key player and a source of inspiration within the national cooperative sector.

Selangor is noted as one of the most active states in cooperative development. As of December 31, 2024, the state recorded 2,189 cooperatives with 654,727 members. Its economic performance is robust, with a revenue of RM796.23 million, shares and fees amounting to RM789.34 million, and assets valued at RM2.816 billion. KOSAS is recognized as a major contributor to this impressive statistical strength over the past five decades.
