Commuter Fatality: Young Technician Passes Away in Motorcycle Incident Near Kemaman

KEMAMAN, El Sky News – A tragic road incident claimed the life of a 29-year-old technician on Saturday evening at Kilometer 5, Jalan Chukai-Air Putih. The incident, which occurred near the Kemaman District Education Office, has cast a somber mood over the local community as news of the victim’s passing spread.

The victim, identified as Kamaruddin Hasan, was reportedly on his way home to Kampung Binjai after completing his shift at the Paka Industrial Area in Dungun. The incident took place at approximately 6:30 PM, a time when many commuters are navigating their way home after a day’s work.

Kemaman District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Razi Rosli, confirmed that his department received an official report regarding the incident.

Official Investigation Underway According to preliminary police findings, Kamaruddin was traveling along the stretch of road when his motorcycle reportedly lost control. “The initial investigation suggests that the motorcycle veered into the right lane,” Superintendent Mohd Razi told RTM. “Medical personnel who arrived at the scene unfortunately confirmed that the victim succumbed to severe head injuries at the site.”

The victim’s body has been transported to the Forensic Unit of Kemaman Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities have officially classified the case for further investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which is standard procedure for fatal road incidents.

Community Impact Kamaruddin was a resident of Kampung Binjai and was known as a hardworking individual who commuted daily between the industrial hub of Paka and his home. His sudden passing is a poignant reminder of the challenges faced by daily commuters.

Local community leaders have expressed their heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased. In light of this tragedy, road safety advocates have encouraged all motorists to remain extra vigilant, especially during peak commuting hours and while traveling long distances after work.
