FEM 2026: Year of Execution with Focus on Tangible Results for the People, Says Akmal Nasrullah

KUALA LUMPUR – The government has designated 2026 as the year of full execution for the Fokus Ekonomi Madani (FEM) initiative, with a primary objective of delivering tangible outcomes that directly benefit the Malaysian public.

Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, stated that after the planning and foundational phases, the focus must now shift toward the effective implementation of policies. This ensures that the economic framework translates into real-world improvements in the cost of living, job quality, and social welfare.

“2026 will be the year where we move beyond strategies and focus on execution. We want the people to feel the impact of the Madani economy through concrete results, whether it’s in better infrastructure, higher household income, or enhanced social protection,” Akmal Nasrullah said during a recent engagement session.

The FEM 2026 framework is centered on several key pillars, including accelerating the energy transition, empowering small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and digitalizing the economy. By focusing on these high-growth sectors, the government aims to create a more resilient and inclusive economic ecosystem.

Furthermore, Akmal emphasized that monitoring and evaluation will be intensified to prevent leakages and ensure that every initiative reaches its intended target groups. The government’s commitment to transparency and efficiency remains a cornerstone of the Madani vision as it moves toward achieving long-term national prosperity.
