Hollywood Actor Shia LaBeouf Arrested Following Alleged Assault at Mardi Gras

KUALA LUMPUR – Celebrated Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf has found himself in legal trouble once again after being taken into custody by local authorities early Tuesday morning. The Transformers star is accused of assaulting two men during the height of the Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans.

According to official statements released by the New Orleans Police Department, the incident took place at approximately 12:45 a.m. at a business premises located near the historic French Quarter. While the specific nature of the establishment was not disclosed, police reports indicate that the 39-year-old actor allegedly began causing a disturbance and became increasingly volatile when staff members intervened.

Eyewitnesses at the scene described a chaotic sequence of events. After being asked to leave the premises by an employee, LaBeouf reportedly confronted a man outside and struck him multiple times. Although the actor briefly left the immediate area, he allegedly returned shortly after and resumed his aggressive behavior.

The situation escalated further when a second victim intervened. According to police, this individual was punched in the nose by the actor. Several bystanders eventually managed to restrain LaBeouf until law enforcement arrived on the scene.

Prior to being booked at the local police station, LaBeouf was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of unspecified minor injuries. He now faces two counts of battery. As of Wednesday morning, court records do not list an attorney for the actor, and his management team has yet to issue a public statement regarding the arrest.

This latest encounter with the law adds to a long history of legal complications for the former Disney star. LaBeouf has previously faced charges for public intoxication and disorderly conduct in New York in 2017, as well as an arrest in Georgia that same year for obstruction and disorderly behavior. Furthermore, he was recently involved in a high-profile civil lawsuit filed by his former partner, the singer FKA Twigs, which alleged physical and emotional abuse. That case was reportedly settled this past July.

LaBeouf, known for his roles in blockbusters such as Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, shares a daughter with actress Mia Goth. He had been attempting a career resurgence in recent years, but this latest incident marks a significant setback in his personal and professional life.
