Man Dies After Jumping From Third Floor During Police Raid in Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — A 52-year-old man died after jumping from the third floor of a residential building while attempting to escape a police raid in Jalan Gombak on Wednesday night.

According to Fadil Marsus, the incident happened at around 9:07 pm when police officers carried out an operation linked to a motorcycle theft investigation at a housing unit in the area.

During the raid, two suspects reportedly tried to flee by jumping from the third floor of the building. The 52-year-old local man was later pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities classified the case as a sudden death, while the second suspect escaped without injuries.

Police also detained 12 individuals at the premises, including four men, five women, and three children aged between three and 42 years old. Authorities confirmed that two of those detained are Indonesian nationals.

In addition to the arrests, officers seized two stolen motorcycles and several types of illegal drugs from the residence.

Investigators said the raid was part of a broader effort to dismantle criminal activities linked to theft and narcotics distribution in the capital. Police confirmed that further investigations are ongoing.
