KUALA LUMPUR, El Sky News — Barisan Nasional (BN) Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has confirmed that there will be no overlapping seats between BN and Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the upcoming Sabah state election (PRN Sabah).
Speaking to reporters, Mohamad said that the seat-sharing negotiations between the two coalitions have been finalised, ensuring both BN and PH will not contest against each other in any constituency.
He added that the cooperation between the two parties aims to strengthen their joint position ahead of the state polls, which will take place later this month.
Pakatan Harapan Secretary-General Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail also confirmed that discussions between PH and BN regarding seat distribution in Sabah have been concluded. According to him, only one seat involving negotiations with another bloc remains under consideration.
The Election Commission has set November 15 as nomination day and November 29 as polling day for the Sabah election.
This marks the first time BN and PH are working together in Sabah under a coordinated seat arrangement since forming the unity government at the federal level.
