DPM Zahid Concludes Official Visit to China, Strengthens Rural and Regional Cooperation

PUTRAJAYA, El Sky News – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, has successfully concluded his four-day official working visit to the People’s Republic of China, which began on November 4.

The strategic visit underscores Malaysia’s continuous efforts to enhance bilateral ties, particularly in areas of rural development, regional cooperation, and technical and vocational education and training (TVET).

Throughout his visit, Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi held a series of high-level meetings with key Chinese leaders and agencies. The core objectives of the discussions included:

  • Exploring sustainable models for resilient rural economic development;
  • Strengthening collaboration to improve the quality and curriculum of Malaysia’s TVET programs, especially in emerging technologies and green industries;
  • Expanding market access for Malaysia’s rural micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to the vast Chinese market.

This working visit not only reaffirms the long-standing diplomatic relationship between Malaysia and China but also opens a new chapter in advancing socio-economic progress in Malaysia’s rural and regional areas through knowledge exchange and technology transfer.

Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is expected to present the outcomes and proposed action plans from the visit to the Malaysian Cabinet soon, ensuring that all agreed initiatives can be implemented promptly for the benefit of the Malaysian people.
