Kyiv, El Sky News — The Ukrainian capital was struck by a large-scale coordinated drone and missile attack carried out by Russian forces early on 14 November 2025. According to local officials, explosions echoed across nearly every district of the city, triggering air-raid alerts, fires, and widespread damage.
At least 11 people were reported injured during the barrage. Among them were a pregnant woman and one person in critical condition. Emergency teams were quickly deployed to hit zones as falling debris ignited fires in high-rise residential buildings, a school, a medical center, and various administrative facilities throughout the city.
The mayor of Kyiv confirmed that air-defense systems were activated to intercept the incoming missiles and drones. Districts such as Dniprovskyi, Podil, Desnyanskyi, and others saw structural damage, and fires broke out in several high-rise complexes.
Officials also warned of disruptions to essential services: some heating lines had been damaged, and there was a real risk of further outages of power and water supply if the damage to infrastructure proved extensive.
City authorities urged citizens to remain in shelters until authorities gave the all-clear. The large-scale attack is seen as part of a renewed escalation in Russia’s targeting of Ukraine’s civilian and urban infrastructure even as diplomatic efforts continue globally.
