KUALA LUMPUR, El Sky News — BYD Millennium Motors emphasized public education on battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) during its participation in the Smart Nation Expo 2025, held from 18 to 20 November at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). The booth, visited largely by adult and professional attendees, focused on raising awareness and understanding of EV technology in Malaysia.
Although only one model — the BYD Seal — was showcased, the display drew strong interest from visitors eager to explore its design, technology, and performance. BYD representatives explained that the purpose of their presence at the event went beyond showcasing multiple cars.
When asked about the main concept behind the booth, a representative said,
“This main concept actually is to share about the knowledge to the public about the EV.”
Visitors showed particular curiosity about the vehicle’s appearance, pricing, and comparative advantages over traditional petrol cars. Highlighting what the team wanted to introduce at the event, the representative explained,
“The car, the looks, the price advantage compared with the petrol car.”
BYD also used the event to promote its year-end offerings, calling attention to timely incentives for potential EV buyers. Regarding current promotions, the representative stated,
“Because now we got… First, it’s the year-end. So, we got quite an attractive year-end event. Then, secondly, it’s the last year for the tax-free fully import EV. So, it’s a good chance to grab the last minute.”
Although the Seal was the only vehicle on display, BYD highlighted its strongest-selling models in Malaysia this year. When asked to list the top three, the representative said,
“First one is the Atto 3, the all-rounder SUV with affordable price. Then, the second one is the Atto 2, which is the cheapest variant, the entry-level for BYD. And then, the third one is the Sealion. This is our premium SUV with quite spacious cabin size.”
Feedback from visitors at the expo has been encouraging, according to BYD’s team. The representative added,
“So far, the feedback is quite positive. So, everyone can know more about the BYD and the Denza compared with other competitors or the typical petrol car.”
Smart Nation Expo 2025 continues to serve as a major platform for smart mobility, green technology, and digital innovation. For BYD, the event offered an opportunity to strengthen public understanding of EVs and reinforce its position in Malaysia’s evolving electric vehicle market.
