Bogor, El Sky News – After eight months of intensive search efforts, police have recovered skeletal remains believed to belong to 6-year-old Alvaro Kiano Nugroho in Kali Cilalay, Tenjo, Bogor, Indonesia. The discovery brings clarity to the disappearance of the young boy from Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, while plunging his family into deep grief.

Police from Metro Jakarta Selatan worked alongside forensic teams and search units at Cilalay Bridge, Tenjo on Wednesday (26/11/2025). Around 12:00 PM local time, five bone samples, including a lower jaw, were recovered, suspected to belong to Alvaro. The remains were sent to RS Polri Kramat Jati for forensic analysis and DNA testing to confirm the child’s identity.The exact cause of death remains under investigation.
Alleged Violence & Motive
Investigations indicate that Alvaro may have been abused by his stepfather, Alex Iskandar. Witness accounts and police findings suggest Alvaro was restrained and suffocated at home, then hidden in the garage for several days before being disposed of in Tenjo, Bogor. Attempts to bury the body failed due to hard soil; the body was eventually wrapped in plastic and left near the riverbank.

Alex Iskandar, initially helping with the search, was detained on 19 November 2025 but found dead on 23 November 2025, allegedly by suicide at the police counseling room.
