PSG Edge Bayern in Stunning Nine-Goal Champions League Thriller

Kuala Lumpur – Paris Saint-Germain delivered a dramatic performance to defeat Bayern Munich 5-4 in a thrilling UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg, in what has become one of the most exciting matches in the competition’s history.

The match, played at the Parc des Princes, saw both European giants exchange relentless attacks, producing a record-breaking nine goals — the highest ever in a semi-final at this stage of the tournament.

Bayern Munich initially took the lead through a penalty from Harry Kane, but PSG quickly responded. The French side surged ahead with standout performances from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé, both of whom scored twice to put PSG in a commanding position.

At one point, PSG led 5-2, seemingly in full control. However, Bayern mounted a late comeback with goals from Dayot Upamecano and Luis Díaz, narrowing the deficit to just one goal and keeping their hopes alive for the second leg.

Despite Bayern’s late push, PSG held on to secure a narrow advantage heading into the return leg in Munich. The result leaves the tie finely balanced, with both teams still in strong contention for a place in the final.

The match has been widely praised as a modern Champions League classic, showcasing high-intensity football, attacking brilliance, and unforgettable drama on the European stage
