Kuala Lumpur — Malaysia’s King, Sultan Ibrahim, has officially invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Malaysia next year. The invitation was extended to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Russia.
Sultan Ibrahim is currently on an official visit to Moscow at the invitation of President Putin. He became the first Malaysian monarch to attend Russia’s Victory Day Parade as an honoured guest. The parade commemorates the end of World War II.
Meeting Between Sultan Ibrahim and Putin
During their meeting in Moscow today, Putin said bilateral ties between Russia and Malaysia continue to grow positively, particularly in trade and economic cooperation. He expressed confidence that the strengthening partnership would help overcome the slight dip in trade recorded recently.
